Landing at planet spaceports
Spaceports⌗
Planet | City | Port |
---|---|---|
microTech | New Babbage | New Babbage Interstellar Spaceport |
Hurston | Lorville | Teasa Spaceport |
ArcCorp | Area18 | Riker Memorial Spaceport |
Crusader | Orison | August Dunlow Spaceport |
See below for a bit of help locating these ports
New Babbage⌗
To find the New Babbage Interstellar Spaceport I tend to look for a monorail / railroad track leaving the City, heading up into the mountains and then arriving at a structure with red flashing lights on it.
To make things more challenging it’s pretty rare to get good weather at New Babbage so you need to learn to locate the spaceport at night or during a snowstorm.
The spaceport looks like this:
When you’ve located it, get close and request landing clearance. You should then land your ship at the allocated hangar
Lorville⌗
Finding the Teasa Spaceport isn’t too bad. The main feature is the floating signs that read “Teasa Spaceport” which you should see in a relatively flat part of the city
The spaceport looks like this:
Landing at Teasa involves a vertical landing, rather than a straight landing, like at New Babbage. I would certainly recommend using 3rd person view (F4) and Vtol if you have it to line things up before you drop down into the hangar. If viewing the ship from the rear in 3rd person I usually find I need to be a bit further forward than I think I do before I descend
Area18⌗
Finding the Riker Memorial Spaceport at Area18 is generally pretty easy. Look for the large red sprawling structure with a train track coming out of it:
This communications tower is also quite a good marker
Just like Lorvile you will have to make a vertical landing so please follow the advice I listed there - make use of the 3rd person view
Although a bit tricky landing in these vertical hangars, especially in larger ships is pretty satisfying
Orison⌗
Orison is a tricky place to land. Its a huge gas giant and also a city in the clouds, so it looks quite distinct vs the other planets and ports. Atmosphere is very thick, at around 150k meaning you have a long flight up and down through atmosphere to enter and exit the space port. I’ve seen this burn up approx 25% of fuel in some ships.
When you approach Orison you’re looking for the spider like structure, which looks like this on the way down
When you get closer it should start to look like this
Once you have called in a landing, you will navigate to a hangar such as the one shown below
Performance around Orison can suffer a bit due to the complexities of rendering city in the clouds. This coupled with the think atmosphere leads me to recommend visiting this planet sparingly e.g. to enjoy a look around or to attend events, etc
